Regional Development Minister Nga Kor Ming paid tribute to those who died as a result of the landslide at Fada Organic Farm, Gohtong Jaya, Batang Kali mountain.
The ministry spent 45 minutes with the families of the victims yesterday, offering its condolences and last respects to the families of the victims of the tragedy, in Nirvana 2, here. “As soon as the parliamentary session ended, I ran to Nirvana 2 to see the six families who lost their loved ones in the disaster. I came there to pay my last respects to the government. “I also promised the government that they will continue their efforts to find the remaining victims. We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to find the nine people who are still missing,” he said in a statement tonight. Nga told the families of the victims that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also offered his condolences to the families.
He added that the prime minister requested a minute’s silence during the Dewan Rakyat session as a mark of respect for the families of those whose loved ones died in the disaster. During the collapse which occurred at 2:42 am on Friday, 24 people out of 94 people died, 61 others survived the disaster while 9 are still missing.
